A house in Cedar Park was damaged by fire Wednesday morning.
According to officials with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, a neighbor noticied smoke coming from a house in the 2500 block of Grand Ridge Trail shortly before 9:00 a.m. and called the fire department. When firefighters arrived at the one-alarm fire, smoke and flames were visible through the roof of the house. No one was home at the time of the fire, but the fire department was able to contact the homeowners.
According to fire department officials, there is fire damage to between 30 percent and 40 percent of the structure. The entire house was damaged by smoke and water, investigators say. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. A fire marshal, however, said the blaze started in the kitchen.
