Fire in Burnet causes many to leave their homes
A fire in Burnet County has forced hundreds of people to leave their homes as fire crews work to get the fire under control.
The fire started Sunday afternoon near State Highway 29 and Summit Ridge Road and it destroyed nearly 280 acres. Although fire crews had the fire mostly contained overnight the winds were a threat that could have caused the fire to continue to spread.
Crews are also working to repair downed power lines in the area. Officials are considering sending a helicopter to drop water on the fire.
