Damages from tornados, floods top $260 billion
Flooding around the Mississippi River and a recent outbreak of tornadoes has destroyed homes and businesses and caused nearly $260 million worth of property damage.
On Sunday, more than 30 percent of the homes in Joplin, Missouri were destroyed after a F-5 twister passed through the area.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency has been working with local officials in seven different states to help with disaster relief. The disasters in the month of April have reached an additional $31 million.
