A house in Southwest Austin recently sustained serious damage amounting to $1.2 million after a fire broke out, a report of KXAN stated on November 10.

The Austin Fire Department was notified of a fire that broke out at a house located at the intersection of Stratford Drive and Lacey Avenue at approximately 2:40 a.m. Reports revealed the fire started in the upper portion of the second story of the house. At the time of the incident, the house was undergoing remodeling and no people or furniture were in the house. The fire was contained after an hour and officials confirmed the house was already a total loss. Fire crews noted residents in the area are at high risk of losing their house in a fire because the fire hydrants in the Rollingwood area were already outdated.
