A hotel operator in Houston, Texas, had filed a lawsuit against an insurance company due to claims that they have violated the Texas Insurance Code, an article of SE Texas Record reported on Wednesday, November 30.
According to the lawsuit filed by a legal counsel on behalf of Houston-based Galleria Hotel Investments LLC, their insurance provider Northfield Insurance Company failed to reimburse their benefits in a timely manner after Day’s Inn had been damaged by a storm in March 2015. The lawsuit claimed that Northfield Insurance was suspected of bad faith after they failed to follow the terms of the inn’s commercial policy insurance. The plaintiff is seeking to undergo a jury trial for them to possibly obtain remunerations including court expenses.
