A house in North Central Dallas recently sustained substantial damage after lightning struck the roof, sparking a fire, an article of NBCDFW reported on April 17.
According to reports, no one sustained any injuries in the fire that broke out at the residential area near the 7100 Block of Briarmeadow Drive. The two individuals inside the two-story house, whose names were withheld, safely evacuated after hearing a loud sound similar to thunder. Responding fire crews fought the fire for more than an hour. Initial investigations revealed that lightning struck the home’s chimney, causing fire damage to the attic and water damage to various parts of the house.
