Many parts of Texas have been affected by heavy flooding caused by severe thunderstorms, and Dallas residents were alerted on May 27 that a nearby dam was expected to be damaged, Fox News reported.

Authorities told reporters that the Midlothian dam on Padera Lake may fail at anytime and cause flooding that could affect 25 houses in Ellis County, southwest of Dallas. Midlothian Police revealed that part of the dam is eroding. Officials who are currently working to lessen dam damage advised nearby residents and farmers to temporarily relocate to higher areas. The information of possible dam collapse came as authorities continue to search for 11 people missing due to the heavy storms.
