House damaged and person burned in residential fire

One person suffered burn injuries after a fire broke out recently at a residential area in the southeast portion of Houston, a May 11 article of the Houston Chronicle reported.

Information from the Houston Fire Department revealed that a fire broke out in the 5300 block of Leeland in the vicinity of Collier. Reports said that the first alarm started at 1:15 a.m., and the fire was contained effectively by fire crews. Responding officials said that the house suffered from severe damage in the fire. The lone person in the house, whose identity was withheld, suffered burn injuries to the arms and was immediately transported to a hospital. Authorities are investigating the cause of the residential fire.
