Fire damage to house in Northwest Austin

A home in Northwest Austin sustained damages after a fire broke out on January 16, the Austin-American Statesman reported.
According to reports, the fire broke out before 4:00 a.m. in the 6200 block of Mesa Drive. Fire crews responded after nearby residents notified them of fire and smoke coming from the house. Hours later, authorities recovered a woman in a ditch that they believed to be the owner of the burning house. The woman was taken to a hospital, possibly suffering from hypothermia and listed in serious condition. Fire crews spent hours containing the fire before they managed to get inside of the house. A fire spokesperson stated that the second floor had collapsed. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
