A Forest Hills family recently was left homeless after a huge fire broke out, CBS Dallas reported on January 6.

Several fire departments reportedly responded to a residential fire that broke out at the 7100 block of Forest Hills Drive. Interim Fire Chief Randy Chapman, who was on the scene, said that the facade of the house was heavily burning when they arrived. Though no person was inside during the fire, some of the pet dogs and birds were killed. Fire crews reportedly managed to save the rear portion of the house from fire. The cause of the fire was unknown.
