FEMA disaster relief funds will now be awarded to 67 additional state counties in Texas.
Originally, there were 45 counties that were covered by the fires that took place between April 6 and May 3. Governor Rick Perry has expanded the timeline for people affected by the wildfires until August 29. This expansion increased the number of counties that were eligible to receive FEMA disaster relief.
Now there are 119 counties who are able to receive funding from FEMA if they meet the requirements.
